ABOUT

tonya is a soldier in the organization, and fei's best friend. she usually works in training newer recruits and group missions rather than solo jobs. she is grateful to the organization and all it has done for her family and is very loyal to it. she is a woman of strong morals, and having grown up in a big family, tonya is a very caring person who wants to protect those weaker or less fortunate than her. although she might look a bit serious or intimidating at first, she is very welcoming and friendly to people, always willing to help. she is energetic, but she can sometimes be quite pushy, blunt and overwhelming. she has good intentions, but what she believes is doing what's best for those she cares for isn't always true, and she has her own way of handling things.

tonya, however, is great at sensing danger. when she feels that something or rather, someone is dangerous her personality changes entirely around them. she becomes cold, serious, tense and ill-tempered around them, willing to do anything in order to keep them away from those she aims to protect. she puts those she views as family above everything else, biological or not. she is surprisingly easily flustered, and despite her strong exterior in reality she struggles with vulnerability, feeling like she always needs to meet the standards of those who look up to her, to always be upbeat and encouraging.

BACKGROUND

tonya grew up in a remote area, in her family's farm in the slovak countryside. she is her family's oldest daughter and grew up very fast, having to look after the farm as well as her younger siblings. however as her family started to struggle financially after losing a significant part of their farm, as a young adult tonya decided to move to the US in hopes for more opportunities. she became involved with crime not long after arriving, something she was never quite proud of nor did her family ever know. the money she earned all went straight back to them, hoping that although she is not there to raise her siblings and help her parents it will be enough to give them a better chance of a future, and that they'd never have to suffer again in the same way. she stays in contact with her family, though she has not gotten the chance to see them again ever since she moved away. tonya joined the organization in her early 20s, not long after she got involved with crime as a whole. she was hesitant at first, but ended up accepting as she believed it was all worth it for her family, who to this day know nothing of it. she was quick to adapt and started to help others train, which soon became her official position. that was how she met fei, too.

in the past, tonya was completely loyal to agnes. she saw her as a great and strong leader, someone she could trust (to an extent) and was extremely grateful to. she never dared question her methods, despite how cruel they might've been. those views, however, changed the moment agnes and fei started to work together.
she didn't notice immediately. agnes was possibly the only thing fei didn't open up to tonya about. but the more distracted fei seemed, the busier she became, the more she distanced herself, she knew that something was wrong. agnes was the first person she confronted. that day, her view of her changed to complete and utter hatred and disgust.
